Katie McCoy (portrayed by Janine Turner) is a minor character in the third season of the Friday Night Lights television series. Katie is the former wife of Joe McCoy and the mother of JD McCoy.

Plot Summary[]
Unlike her husband, Katie wanted J.D. to focus on other activities besides football like dating and forming relationships. She was horrified to witness Joe beat up J.D. after the latter started acting against his father's interests. She is former friends with Tami Taylor but when the Taylors called child services on the McCoys, Katie told Tami that she wanted nothing to do with her anymore. She is not seen or mentioned again until Joe reveals to Tami in a meeting about J.D's behavior that he and katie have separated.
