Virgil Merriweather

Virgil Merriweather is a former state-championship winning quarterback of the East Dillon Lions and father of Jess Merriweather and her younger brothers. He is initially shown as resentful of Vince's friendship with Jess, but later warms up to him, which surprises Jess. He gives Vince a job at Ray's BBQ when Coach Taylor asks him to hire Vince. He is also sometimes seen as a father figure to Vince while Vince's dad is in jail.
